Simply put, it is not an apt comparison simply because it is wood vs. metal. As far as the clarification, I do not know what the writer's intent was, but old vs. new persimmon is mainly a function of old shafts vs. new shafts - shafts have come a long way and are now lighter and longer. Your new shafts, new head designs, new putter face have allowed me to enjoy the game more while unfortunately, playing less. No other company allows me to have the one on one contact and support.
