The Benny is an iron that was developed by and named after Ben Sayers. It has a distinctive head shape that is similar to a Mashie with the loft nearer the Spade Mashie (38 degrees, modern equivalent 7/8-iron). It has a more moderate head shape and size than the Spade Mashie, making it easier to hit. It is the perfect club to fill the gap between the Mashie and the Mashie Niblick. Original Benny’s are scarce. We took an original Benny and replicated it exactly, and fit it with a solid Hickory shaft and hand wrapped leather grip.
