The Maple tree is one of the forest’s most eye-catching inhabitants. The commercial production of Maple tree syrups in North America occurs primarily in the northeastern United States with the greatest abundance originating from Sugar Maple and Black Maple. Maple is used in basketball floors, musical instruments and baseball bats; its sap is used in a number of syrups.
